Uploading Videos and Pictures
To upload videos or pictures to Trophy Clips you must first sign up as a member. After
you have signed up select the Upload button and select "Video" or "Picture"
to start uploading.
Upload speed depends largely on your connection speed and the file size.
Please be patient with larger files as they can take a while to upload and
then convert. On average for a fast DSL connection (1.5 Mbps / 768 Kbps) you
can upload about 4 Mb per one minute. So, a 40 Mb video file will take
approximately ten minutes to upload. If you experience repeated problems
with the upload process please contact us and we will correct the issue.
Acceptable Video File Size: Now 200 Mb or less
Uploading large video files will require more time - please be patient.
For a compressed video format, such as Windows Media (WMV) or DivX this
should be close to twenty minutes of video depending on the settings used to
create the file.
Video Format:
Trophy Clips accepts almost all video
file formats (avi, mpg, wmv, mov, flv etc.) and most industry standard video
codecs. If you experience problems uploading a video due to a file format or
codec issue please contact us and we will look into the problem to resolve
any issues.

to make. You do not have to make any selections at this
point. Your video or picture will be converted and appear on Trophy Clips in a few

Creating Videos
There are a variety of ways to capture video, such as camcorder, digital
camera, cell phone, trail camera or underwater camera. Now that you have
captured video you will need to copy it to your computer. Typically capture
devices come with some instruction for downloading content from the capture
device to your computer. Once the video is on your computer you can either
upload it to Trophy Clips or edit the video (recommended). Editing video can
be done with Windows Movie Maker, iMovie or other editing software. Editing
is a great way to reduce the raw video content to show only what you want, add special
effects
and reduce file sizes through video compression. Both Windows Movie Maker
and iMovie have options for compressing raw video files into a format that
results in a smaller file size while retaining a high quality picture. Most
computers should have one or the other installed as free programs.
Uploading videos in a web media format such as WMV (Windows Media Video
File) or DivX will significantly reduce upload times, while still providing a high
quality video result. When uploading a video in DivX format make sure the
file extension is as *.avi or filename.avi and not *.divx. Trophy Clips
accepts most video formats and continues to add new video conversion
options, however, if you are unable to upload your video contact us by email
(info@trophy-clips.com)
so that we may resolve any video conversion problems.
Streaming Video Speeds/Compression
Rates
Trophy Clips will not stream well with a dial-up connection. Unlike other
popular video hosting websites, Trophy Clips compresses raw uploaded video
at a lower rate, which results in a higher quality video on our website. The
lower compression rate may also result in a video occasionally pausing as
the stream rate exceeds your download rate. You will likely experience this
pause with the slowest of high speed internet (768 Kbps and lower). If a pause
occurs simply wait and the video will restart, or pause the video and play
again after the progress bar has downloaded additional video. We strongly
feel that a higher quality video, one with few artifacts, is worth the
occasional pauses.
