The
Story
My buddies and I start ice fishing every November
in our great state of Alaska. Quartz Lake provides us an opportunity
to catch a variety of species including rainbow trout. I was fishing
in about 3 feet of water when this monster rainbow took my
offering. Playing a fish like this is thrilling for me, landing and
a sweet release enables us to maybe catch them again one day. I am
very blessed to live in such a wonderful place where I can fish year
round. I am also thankful for my buddy being able to capture my
moment of triumph with a camera.

Picture January Award
Congratulations to
SalmonJediMaster as the winner of the
January Trophy Picture Contest. A die hard angler with camera close by
he catches just about any type of fish with a special niche for Alaskan
salmon and trout species. The fish in his winning picture is also on his
